Hey guys! I'm Julia Nguyen, and I'm studying biochemistry and egyptology. I joined YEP! for my love of entrepreneurship and mentorship, while immersing myself within the Providence community. Outside of YEP!, you'll probably find me studying at a coffee shop, playing music for the student radio, line dancing, or playing volleyball :)

My name is Evelyn Lamond and I am a Public Affairs and Communications double major at UCLA. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and love meeting eager high school students from this city like I once was. YEP! is such an awesome creative and collaborative space, I look froward to to supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs and problem solvers!

Kelly Wu is a sophomore from San Francisco, majoring in Economics. In high school, Kelly created an initiative bringing free science lessons to elementary students in the Bay Area. Outside of YEP, she enjoys binge-watching shows, cooking, and going on hikes. She is excited to combine her two interests, entrepreneurship and teaching in YEP!

Victoria Simonds

Co-President

Victoria Simonds is a sophomore at Yale studying history. Originally from Los Angeles, California, she is passionate about education and entrepreneurship. As a sophomore in high school, she founded Jump Time with her twin sister, a nonprofit dedicated to tutoring elementary and middle schoolers in the Los Angeles area. Her entrepreneurial drive has also led her to launch small businesses ranging from slime to jewelry, and she is currently developing a fashion-tech app.

Ben Deng

Program Manager

Ben Deng is currently a junior studying Economics and Data Science at UC Berkeley. In high school, he helped found his school’s DECA Chapter and started a music tutoring program to help kids in his neighborhood learn piano and music theory. He now works as a Social Good Consultant for the Data Science Society at Berkeley, working on projects related to education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. With passions for positive social impact and creative problem-solving, Ben is incredibly excited about the future of YEP! at Berkeley.

Tien Tran

School Engagement Coordinator

Tien Tran is a sophomore from Hanoi, Vietnam. He is currently studying Business Administration and Data Science at UC Berkeley. His interest for social impact sparked when he led product development for SANSE, a student-run business that sells organic tea across Vietnam to help promote education equity. He is also working at 180 DC where he hopes to further solidify his interest in social impact and business. He is excited to use his experience in business and social impact to help YEP! come to life at Berkeley.

Amy Yang

Student Engagement Coordinator

Amy is a sophomore at UC Berkeley majoring in Neurobiology and minoring in BioEngineering. She is passionate about combining the rising technology field with current medical knowledge to help the increasing mental health problems. In her free time, she teaches students from kindergartners to high schoolers, so she’s excited to spread her passion of entrepreneurship with the next generation!
